A Wind Advisory is in effect for the summit of Haleakala until 6 p.m. on Monday, December 26, 2011.

Winds are expected to be east at 25 to 30 mph range with gusts up 50 mph through this afternoon.

The deep trade conditions will produce high winds across the summit today, making driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

Motorists are advised to use extra caution while driving, and secure objects that may become airborne.
