On New Years Day, Baldwin Beach Park’s Cove was especially crowded with people celebrating the first day of 2012.

A tent with a DJ was set up from 1 p.m.until sunset, creating a beach-party atmosphere throughout the afternoon.

Baldwin Cove was protected from light winds on the North Shore and the water remained calm and glassy throughout the day, encouraging visitors to carry the party in to the water for games and swimming.

Much activity could be observed on the sand as well, including bowling pin juggling, three-foot-high tight-rope walking, drumming, and hula hoop dancing.

Hundreds of beach-goers remained at Baldwin to celebrate the day even after the sun began to fade.
