8TH POLICE RADIO TELEPHONE OPERATOR RECRUIT CLASS GRADUATES
Six applicants graduated with the 8th Police Radio Telephone Operator Recruit Class on Friday. The recruitment of police dispatchers helps to fill vacancies within the department’s communication’s division.
The graduates are Jennifer Lynn Boswell, a former employee with the Lodge & Beach Village at Molokai Ranch, Melia Johnson, a former Human Resources employee with Sig Zane, Natasha Kaiwi, a former Customer Service employee with Alamo Rent A Car, William Mason, a retired accountant, Angel Roman, a former Teller with Kahului Federal Credit Union and Heather Salanti, a former employee with Ace Printing.
The graduation for the 8th Police Radio Telephone Operator Recruit Class was held on April 24, 2009 at the Police Chief’s Conference Room.
The training class started on December 22, 2008. Applicants received training on Criminal Law-Hawaii Revised Statues, Traffic offenses and infractions, Maui County Codes, TDD/Hearing impairment, the Computer Aided Dispatch System (CADS), Mapping/GPS (Global Positioning System), NCIC (National Crime Information Center), Call taking, Report Warrior, Driver licensing and vehicle searches, and about the different county agencies and Maui Police Department sections.
The recruits will now be assigned to the Communications Training Officer Program where they will be monitored for the next 3 ½ months while doing actual work.
