A nonpartisan candidate forum featuring candidates running for mayoral and contested county council seats will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 9, at the Kula Community Center. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and the formal program runs from 6 to 8 p.m. This event is free and open to the public. The forum will be live streamed by Akakū.
Organized as an opportunity for voters to evaluate candidates ahead of the upcoming election, the event will feature eight total races, including one mayoral race and seven contested county council district races. A total of 16 candidates have been invited to participate. The format will feature a structured Q&A, giving each candidate time to share their thoughts, ambitions and plans for their seat.
“Civic engagement and informed voting are vital to the strength of our community,” said Jordan Hocker, KCA Board President. “This forum offers residents a transparent, neutral setting to hear directly from candidates across all eight races.”
