Friday War Memorial Blessing canceled; weekend Kōkua Kauaʻi Donation Drive to be rescheduled as County urges residents to prepare for severe weather

Due to anticipated severe weather, the County of Maui has canceled the War Memorial Gymnasium Blessing scheduled for Friday, Sept. 25, and postponed the Kōkua Kauaʻi Donation Drive scheduled for Sept. 26-27, according to the County of Maui Office of Public Affairs.

The War Memorial Gymnasium Blessing was scheduled to mark the completion of renovations to the Wailuku facility. A future community event will be held to celebrate the renovated gymnasium, with details to be announced at a later date.

The Kōkua Kauaʻi Donation Drive was scheduled to collect essential items for residents of Kauaʻi affected by Hurricane Lowell. The donation drive will be rescheduled, with a new date to be announced.
