Young Brothers promotes Ashlee Kishimoto to chief financial officer

Young Brothers, Hawaiʻi’s interisland freight company, today announced the promotion of Ashlee Kishimoto to chief financial officer. Kishimoto will lead the company’s financial strategy and oversee its financial planning, forecasting and reporting.
“Ashlee brings strong financial experience, sound judgment and a clear understanding of Young Brothers’ operations and responsibilities to the communities we serve,” said Steen Christensen, president of Young Brothers. “Her leadership will help us make disciplined, informed decisions as we manage the company’s operational needs and plan for the long-term future of interisland freight service in Hawai‘i.”
As chief financial officer, Kishimoto will provide financial insight and analysis to support Young Brothers’ business and operational decisions. She joined Young Brothers as director of finance in 2023, overseeing the company’s accounting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, and procurement functions. In that role, she worked closely with company leadership to evaluate business activities and opportunities, manage financial forecasting and reporting, and identify opportunities to improve business performance and processes.
Before joining Young Brothers, Kishimoto served as corporate controller and director of accounting and finance for Sullivan Family of Companies. She also held several leadership positions at Hawaiian Airlines, including managing director of investor relations, managing director of human resources operations, and managing director of corporate audit. Earlier in her career, she worked in audit and assurance at KMH LLP and KPMG LLP.
Kishimoto earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting, cum laude, from the University of San Francisco.
