Whalers Village invites West Maui families to celebrate ‘Ohanaween with free Halloween festivities

Whalers Village invites the West Maui community and visitors to celebrate ‘Ohanaween, a free, family-friendly Halloween celebration on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 4 to 7 p.m. throughout the center.
The annual celebration will bring families together for an evening of trick-or-treating, roaming stilt walkers, complimentary face painting, music, magic and more. Maui radio personality “The Morning Goddess” Alaka‘i Paleka will serve as emcee for the evening.
Beginning at 4 p.m., families can make their way throughout Whalers Village to collect Halloween treats from participating stores and restaurants, including Balsam Hill Studio, Cariloha Bamboo, Crazy Shirts, Glass Mango Designs, Hula Grill, JJ Tacos, KaiAloha Supply, Lilly Pulitzer, Lululemon, Maui Divers Jewelry, Maui Jim, Mahina and Sea Maui. Hula Grill will also get into the Halloween spirit with a seasonal Pumpkin Hula Pie, featuring house-made pumpkin ice cream, cinnamon whipped cream, caramel drizzle and an animal cracker crust, along with a Spiced Pumpkin Latte.
Throughout the center, stilt walkers will greet guests, while additional activities include bounce houses, complimentary face painting, a DJ and magician. At 5 p.m., special prizes will be awarded to some of the evening’s standout costumes, followed by a costume parade at 5:30 p.m., giving keiki and families an opportunity to show off their Halloween creativity.
To make it easier for families to enjoy the festivities, complimentary parking will be available for ‘Ohanaween guests from 3 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 31.
This year, Whalers Village is partnering with the Kā‘anapali Operations Association and Pilikahakai Foundation to bring ‘Ohanaween to life and continue growing the celebration as an annual Halloween tradition for West Maui families.
“There’s something really special about seeing Whalers Village filled with keiki in costume and families celebrating Halloween together,” said Tiera Kekaula, Marketing Manager of Whalers Village. “‘Ohanaween gives our merchants and community partners an opportunity to create a fun, festive evening for West Maui, and we’re grateful to the Kā‘anapali Operations Association, Pilikahakai Foundation and our participating stores and restaurants for helping us bring this event to life each year.”
“We’re honored to partner with Whalers Village and Pilikahakai Foundation to help create a Halloween celebration centered around families, community and safety,” said Raphael Wellerstein, President and General Manager of the Kā‘anapali Operations Association. “We hope ‘Ohanaween continues to grow into a tradition that West Maui families can enjoy together year after year.”
