Aloha Amplified invites community to Mahalo Quest launch, Sugar Beach Community Cleanup, Oct. 17

Aloha Amplified, Inc. invites the community to participate in the Sugar Beach Community Cleanup on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, from 9 to 11 a.m. Volunteers should meet at 9 a.m. at Sugar Beach, 235 N Kihei Rd., Kihei, HI 96753.

The cleanup is being held in conjunction with the launch of Mahalo Quest, a new community discovery experience. The pilot launches in South and West Maui, encouraging residents and visitors to support local businesses, explore Maui’s places and stories, and volunteer in the community.

As part of Mahalo Quest’s Mālama pathway, the cleanup offers an opportunity for the community to give time back and care for the island. During the two-hour event, volunteers will help remove litter, plastics and other waste from the beach and surrounding coastal area. The effort is designed to bring people together around a shared commitment to cleaner beaches and a stronger community.

Participants are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle, sun protection, covered shoes or appropriate footwear, and work gloves. Water and cleanup supplies will be provided.

Volunteers will receive a free Ululani’s Hawaiian Shave Ice as a mahalo for their participation.

Mahalo Quest is sponsored by the Maui Strong Fund of the Hawaiʻi Community Foundation, the County of Maui’s Office of Economic Development, and the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority through its Community Enrichment Program.
