A female visitor from Vancouver, BC, was Medevaced from Honolua Bay after running into trouble while snorkeling on Saturday afternoon, February 25, 2012.
Authorities from the Maui County Paramedics Association say the woman was involved in a near-drowning incident.
The woman had attempted to swim to a nearby catamaran, where deckhands helped her reach the rocks, said Fire Services Chief Lee Mainaga.
Jet Ski 11 picked her up and brought her into the landing, where personnel from Engine-11 assisted in preparing the patient for ambulance transport to Napili Park.
Medics from Air-med I then flew the woman to Maui Memorial Medical Center for treatment.
Medic 5, Engine 11 and life guards assisted with the case. The flight time was 9 minutes. The alarm was first received at 1:05 p.m.
