Today’s GOP Presidential Caucus Includes Maui Voting Sites

For the first time in history, Hawaii Republican voters will be voting for their choice of Republican Presidential nominees in today’s GOP Hawaii caucus.

Voting runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at locations across the state.   There are seven voting locations on Maui, one on Lanai and one on Molokai.  The Maui voting locations include the following:

• Wailuku: Wailuku Elem School, 355 South High Street, Wailuku
• Kahului: Grace Bible Church, 635 Hina Ave, Kahului
• Lahaina: Lahaina Baptist Church, 209 Shaw Street, Lahaina
• Kihei, Wailea: Kalama Heights Senior Center, 101 Kanani Rd, Kihei
• Upcountry: Mayor H Tavares Rec Ctr, 91 Pukalani St, Puhalani
• Haiku, Huelo: Mayor H Tavares Rec Ctr, 91 Pukalani St, Puhalani
• Hana, Keanae: Hana High School Cafeteria, 4111 Hana Highway, Hana
• Lanai: Lanai High School Cafeteria, 555 Fraser Avenue, Lanai City
• Molokai, Kalaupapa: Molokai Burgers dining room, 20 Kamehameha V Highway, Kaunakakai

District and precinct boundaries are based on the State House District and precinct lines used in the 2010 elections.

Candidates on the ballot in Hawaii include Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, and Rick Santorum.

Seventeen of the 20 delegates being sent to the Republican National Convention in Tampa, Florida, will be based on the caucus vote.  The remaining three are super-delegates who will not be held to today’s caucus results.

To participate, voters must show a photo ID with a valid Hawaii address, and fill out a party card.

Boundaries are based on the State House District and Precinct lines used in the 2010 elections.
