FIRE FORCES CLOSURE OF HOKIOKIO ROAD IN WEST MAUI

Hokiokio Road was reopened at 5:43 a.m. following firefighting efforts in the area.

The Honoapiilani Highway is now open, but Hokiokio Road remains closed in Puamana as Maui Firefighters continue to battle a blaze in the area. Firefighters have closed Hokiokio Road as they use the area for firefighting equipment. Estimated time to reopen is to be determined.

Firefighters on Maui are battling a blaze in West Maui at this hour. The firefighting efforts forced the closure of the Honoapiilani Highway in both directions near Hokiokio Road in Puamana at around 2 a.m. There is no estimated time for when the road will be reopened.
