US Representative Mazie Hirono is running for Hawaii’s vacant Senate seat in the 2012 elections.

Clarification: Hirono has agreed to a number of debates, shortly before the election. Critics have wondered aloud why she has declined invitations to debate until then, particularly televised debates.
