Blessing of the New Hana Skate Park

A blessing was conducted for the new skate park facility at Paanimai Park in Hana in East Maui.

“The construction of this skate park is truly a labor of love,” said Senator J. Kalani English, who represents the district.

“I commend everyone in the community – the parents, families, organizations, individuals and the County of Maui – for coming together for this great effort,” he said.  “It is so wonderful to see the fruit of everyone’s labor,” said Sen. English.

Sen. English noted that the skate park has been long-awaited by the community, and especially the keiki.

“They now have a place right in their neighborhood to skate, play, grow and develop. Children will be coming here to meet their friends and have fun in a safe, clean environment beginning today and for many years to come,” he said.
