Alaska Airlines Adds Maui-Bellingham Route

Starting November 8, Alaska Airlines will launch a new seasonal service between Bellingham, Washington and Maui.

The new route will increase air seats with visitors from Pacific Northwest, including more Canadian visitors from southern British Columbia.

“British Columbia residents can save even more money flying out of Bellingham International Airport, located 22 miles south of the Canadian border, thanks to lower government taxes and airport fees,” said Joe Sprague, vice president of marketing for Alaska Airlines, in a written statement.

The Hawaii Tourism Authority is estimating that the new flights will provide $16 million in visitor spending and $1.7 million in tax revenue annually.

To introduce the four weekly flights, the carrier is offering low introductory one-way fares from $179 for tickets purchased by July 3 for travel November 8 to December 24.
