Maui Fourth of July Fireworks and Events

There are plenty of opportunities to see Maui’s clear night sky come ablaze with colorful firework displays and more this US Independence Day – Wednesday, July 4.

Fourth of July Celebration in Lahaina 

All are invited to Lahaina on Wednesday evening to enjoy the town’s Fourth of July dining specials and peruse shops for holiday deals.

2012 Maui Invitational Music Festival presents a free concert on the Lahaina Library Lawn at 5:30 p.m. featuring the Maui Community Band performing patriotic national and local favorites.

Hard Rock Cafe hosts a KISS FM Celebration of Independence through music starting at 6 p.m. The event includes “grab-and-go”  hot dogs and hamburgers and an outdoor beer garden with a view of Lahaina’s fireworks.

The Maui Chamber of Commerce hosts a free fireworks display just after sunset, at 8 p.m. Fireworks can be viewed across Lahaina from the beach, charter boats, or from viewpoints on Front Street.

Pacific Whale Foundation July Fourth Fireworks & Cocktail Cruise

If you want to skip fighting a crowd of hundreds to get a peek at Lahaina’s Fourth of July fireworks display, Pacific Whale Foundation has you covered.

The organization is hosting three cruises on double-decker catamarans that include all-American favorite appetizers, Hawaiian BBQ glazed ribs and marinated chicken breast, a grilled veggie medley, Mediterranean pasta salad, potato-macaroni salad, rolls, sliced watermelon, triple chocolate brownies, cocktails, and festive music. Adults get three cocktails of their choice.

There are two (one non-alchoholic) cruises in Maalaea and one in Lahaina.

Makawao Annual 4th of July Parade & Rodeo

To celebrate before nightfall come upcountry to Makawao Town from 9 a.m. – noon Saturday (that’s the 7th of July, just to be confusing) for the historic paniolo parade that runs from Baladwin Ave. to Eddie Tam Center.

The parade includes horses, live parade music, and colorful costume displays.

Bring flags, cowboy boots, sparklers, and patriotism.
