Wailea One of the Most Expensive US Destinations

According to a new survey by CheapHotels.org, Wailea ranks as the 10th most expensive US destination, in terms of hotel costs.
Newport, Rhode Island is the United States’ most expensive destination in this survey that compared hotel rates for all destinations in the USA for the period of June through August 2012.
Two other Hawaii destinations made the Top 20 on the list: Kohala Coast – Waikoloa (#11) and Koloa (#13)
London topped the list for European destinations and Singapore was the most expensive destination in the world.
The rankings were determined based on the cost of each location’s cheapest available double room. As such, it reflects the minimum amount travelers will have to spend to stay at a certain destination, with only such hotels having a 2-star rating or higher being considered.
The following table shows the 20 most expensive destinations in the USA this summer. The prices shown are based on the average rate for their cheapest available double room (minimum 2-star hotel) for the time period spanning June through August 2012.
