Kaunoa Senior Center Receives $20,000 A&B Nutrition Grant

The County’s Nutrition Program for senior citizens is the recipient of a $20,000 donation from the Alexander & Baldwin Foundation.

A&B’s financial contributions over the past 35 years, has helped Kaunoa’s Congregate Nutrition program provide nutritious meals at 17 satellite centers throughout Maui County, officials said.

Special activities and events for individuals over 60 years of age are also supported by the grant.

HC&S General Manager Rick Volner Jr. presented a donation check to Department of Housing & Human Concerns director Jo-Ann Ridao during Kumiai Day at the Kaunoa Senior Center–a cultural celebration event reminiscent of early sugar plantation days.

Kaunoa Senior Services is a division of the County of Maui’s Department of Housing and Human Concerns.
