By Wendy Osher
The Hyatt Regency Maui Resort and Spa Re-launches Sushi Classes at its Japengo sushi lounge on two Saturdays this month.
Expert sushi chefs invite guests to experience signature sushi with hands-on instruction, tasting, and preparation tips.
Known for its Pacific Rim-inspired cuisine, Japengo also features panoramic views and creative rolled-to-order sushi with island fresh, locally-grown ingredients.
Sushi menu highlights include rolls such as: 50/50 with crab, salmon, cucumber, avocado, Hamachi, green onion, ponzu and lemon; and Honolulu with tuna, avocado, cucumber and sweet chili, rolled inside out with tempura “crunchies.”
The Saturday Sushi School takes place from 3 to 4:30 p.m. on August 11 and 25, 2012.
Classes are located in the sushi lounge at the Hyatt in West Maui.
Tickets are $35 per person and instruction is limited to 20 people per class.
