County Economic Development Grants Training Coming to Lanai

The Maui County Office of Economic Development (OED) is offering a grants training workshop on Lana`i on Friday, October 5.

OED staff including Tina Silva, the grants manager for OED, will travel to Lanai to give residents an opportunity to learn what kinds of grants are available, how to apply and how the grants program and grants processing works.

The workshop will run from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Lana`i Senior Center.

This training session will examine the following topics of interest:

• Purpose and availability of OED funds
• Grant proposals and method of submission
• Compliance for funding
• Developing goals and objectives
• Developing an effective budget
• Proper spending and accounting
• Reporting requirements
