Pukalani Girl Crowned 2012 Health Baby

More than 120 babies competed in the 13th Annual Meadow Gold Dairies Maui Healthy Baby Contest, held over the weekend at the 90th Maui Fair.

The 2012 grand-prize winner was Kendall Sanchez from Pukalani.  Kendall is the daughter of Frank and Nanela Sanchez.

The Meadow Gold Dairies’ Healthy Baby Contest program has been an island tradition since 1953. Each Healthy Baby Contest held statewide gives proud parents the opportunity to showcase their healthy keiki in a setting that promotes the importance of proper health and nutrition beginning at an early age.

The runner-up prizes for the 2012 Meadow Gold Healthy Baby Contest went to the following:

  • 2nd Place winner: Likeke Palakiko, Wailuku (Parents: Richard and Kanani Palakiko)
  • 3rd Place winner: Kekoa Darlington of Kula (Parents: Peter Darlington and Mackenzie George)
  • 4th Place winner: Stormy Smith, of Paia (Parents: Jack Smith and Malia Stewart)
  • 5th Place Winner: Mason Swoope of Haiku (Parents: Jason and Melissa Swoope)
