Water Outage Forces Closure of Paia School, 10/30/12

Paia School will be open tomorrow. Water has since been restored to campus.

Officials with the state Department of Education extended a thank you to the Paia School parents for their quick response in picking up their children when a closure notification was issued this morning.

A water outage has forced the closure of Paia School today, Tuesday, October 30, 2012.

Leila Hayashida, the Complex Area Superintendent for Central Maui announced the closure at around 9 a.m.

Hayashida said parents are being asked to pick up their children on campus.

Officials say the school is not running bus service because they need to make sure that students are in the care of their parents.
