Kaiser Permanente Hawaii Increasing Rates Again

The State of Hawaii’s Insurance Division has approved a rate increase of 9.7% for 14,400 individuals covered by Kaiser Permanente Hawaii, according to a report by the Honolulu Star-Advertiser today.

The Insurance Division is also considering another request by Kaiser Permanent Hawaii to raise 2013 rates for more than 155,000 other members at 5,200 business groups by as much as 5.3%.

According to the report, Kaiser is already implementing the group rate increase and says it will readjust rates if the increase is approved. The individual rate increase took effect January 1, 2013.
