Peter Ho, chairman, president and chief executive director of Bank of Hawaii Corp., has been elected to the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco’s board of directors, serving a three-year term effective Jan. 1.

Subaru Hawaii’s “Share the Love” sales event raised $8,000 for Hawaii Wildlife Fund and $3,000 for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) Maui.

Lyle Matsuoka has been named executive manager of Hawaii operations for Ruby Tuesday, which includes the Kihei location and four other locations in the state.

AlohaCare, one of Hawaii’s largest health insurance plans, has awarded $5,000 to Malama Family Recovery Center through its annual AlohaCare Community Conscience Award. The AlohaCare grant will be used to support Baby SAFE (Substance Abuse Free Environment) Prevention Program in Maui County.

First Insurance Company of Hawaii was recently awarded the 2013 Work-Life Seal of Distinction by the Alliance for Work-Life Progress, a national organization that celebrates employers who show leadership in helping employees succeed at work and in their personal lives.

Senator Mazie K. Hirono announced two senior members of her Hawaii US Senate staff: Betsy Lin will serve as chief of staff; and Jadine Nielsen as acting state director.

Ma`alaea Triangle Association announced that Diamond Parking Services LLC will manage the parking lot at 192 Ma’alaea Road which includes free parking for customers of the Maui Ocean Center, Ma`alaea Harbor Shops and the Pacific Whale Foundation.
