Leadership Expert to Speak at County Business Center

This month the Maui County Business Resource Center (MCBRC) is hosting several workshops geared toward helping small and micro businesses succeed on Maui.

Tom Feltz, a longtime Covey Leadership Center instructor will discuss the “marketing mindset” as well as how to deal with habits of procrastination by offering successful time management techniques.

The Maui County Business Resource Center also has an entire lineup of other short business workshops during February. Every month, local business experts share a wealth of knowledge and experience at the free workshops and topics vary by month but usually focus on starting, financing, and growing a small business.

The Center, a division of the County of Maui Office of Economic Development, also has free business counseling with business executives in the US Small Business Administration’s Service Corp of Retired Executives (SCORE) counselor program. SCORE is a federal program and the Maui Chapter is lead by long-time SCORE counselor and certified public accountant, Richard Kehoe.

“How to Readjust Your Marketing Mindset for Success” by Timothy Wenk – Tuesday, February 5
Learn to use target marketing; about uncovering your “unique selling proposition”; powerful words to use in marketing; and evaluating and improving marketing plans. Free 1-hour audio CD, “How to Double Your Business” to first 15 people who attend. Timothy Wenk is a professional magician with 30 years marketing experience.

“Attitude is Everything” by Larry Roussel – Tuesday, Feb 12 & 26 – 11:45 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Professional speaker, entrepreneur, and mentor, Larry Roussel  has developed a series of workshops to help people reach their “true potential” in life. In this seminar, develop a plan of action complete with guided accountability to keep you on track.

“Resource Management: Time is Your #1 Resource” by Tom Feltz – Wednesday, February 13

Tom Feltz specializes in teaching presentations skills along with a number of other popular leadership, management and business courses. “Business Incubator Program at Lokahi Pacific Pono Center” by Susie Thieman – Friday, February 15
The Lokahi Pacific Business Incubator was created in 2007 to help new businesses on Maui grow.  Business incubation is a business support process that accelerates the successful development of new companies by providing entrepreneurs with a range of targeted resources and services.  At Lokahi Pacific provides free counseling for your small business, and in addition rents office at a low cost as well as a licensed commercial kitchen. Susie Thieman, executive director of Lokahi Pacific, will discuss all the options available at the Center.
