Starting Jan. 2, 2024, the Holoholo Bookmobile will be open for service in West Maui on specific dates at Whaler’s Village and Nāpili Park.

The monthly test of the all-hazard Statewide Outdoor Warning Siren System is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024, at 11:45 a.m. The siren test will be coordinated with a test of the Live Audio Broadcast segment of the Emergency Alert System.

A plume of discolored water was observed in the vicinity of Ahyi Seamount in satellite images from Monday afternoon. It is possible that this plume is due to underwater volcanic activity however pressure sensors at Wake Island that have been used in the past to confirm underwater volcanic activity are not currently operational.

The state Department of Transportation will be conducting road work this week that will result in lane closures at various locations.
