Maui Public Art Corps, in partnership with the County of Maui + Hale Hō‘ike‘ike at the Bailey House/ Maui Historical Society, has released a request for proposals for participatory public art projects. The deadline to apply is Feb. 4, 2024. 

Radio and TV personality Kathy Collins is hosting Akakū Maui Community Media’s free 2024 Community Connection Day, with live entertainment from Homestead, on Jan. 12 from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Brett Young brings his Caliville style of Country to the Maui Arts & Cultural Center A&B Amphitheater and Yokouchi Pavilion on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024 at 7 p.m. Gates open at 5:30 p.m.

The Maui Pops Orchestra presents Disney and Beyond with the music of Alan Menken, featuring guest vocalists Susan Egan and Adam Jacobs on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2024 at 3 p.m. in the Castle Theater of the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.

Grand Wailea will hold an event called Grand Wailea x Hawaiʻi’s Finest: Night Club ft. EO this Friday, Dec. 29 from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Grand Wailea hosts an intimate sunset performance and evening of music for all ages on Friday, Dec. 22 from 6 to 10 p.m. The festivities will begin with music by Hawaiian reggae band Inna Vision, followed by a special performance from NBC-TV’s “The Voice” Season 24 contestant Jason Arcilla of Maui, as well as fellow contestant Kaylee Shimizu of Oʻahu.

Pacific Whale Foundation, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to protect the ocean and its wildlife, invites passionate filmmakers and artists to honor World Ocean Day 2024 with submissions for the 8th Annual World Whale Film Festival.

Grand Wailea holds a special Holiday Marketplace and Tree Lighting Ceremony this Sunday, Dec. 17 from 4 to 8 p.m. 

Manaʻo Radio, an all-volunteer community radio station, raised $30,330 for the Hawai’i Community Foundation’s Maui Strong Fund at their Manaʻo Strong event held at Mulligans on the Blue in Wailea on Oct. 27, 2023.

Moku Moku, a local series filmed on Maui, is now officially streaming, with episodes releasing on Fridays at noon at www.808MokuMoku.com.

This month’s Hawaiian Music Series will take place on Thursday, Dec. 28 at 6 p.m., at Hale Hoʻikeʻike at the Bailey House Museum in Wailuku. This free event will feature well-known musicians Wilson Kanakaʻole and Jarret Roback.

An elegant and impactful, new, coffee-table book titled MĀLAMA MAUI: Music Photography from Lahaina, has just been released. One hundred percent of the profits from sales of the book will be donated to the Maui United Way Fire Disaster Relief Fund.

The Ritz-Carlton Maui, Kapalua has joined forces with music industry leader Sony Music Publishing Nashville, and production company Renate Event & Design, to host the 2024 Maui Songwriters Festival from Jan. 6–13, 2024.

James Taylor and his All-Star Band will perform at Maui Arts and Cultural Center on May 5. The show will take place at the A&B Amphitheater and Yokouchi Pavilion.

Queen Kaʻahumanu Center presents a special concert by Ekolu on Dec. 15 and many festive events throughout December, including Santa visits, bingo nights, and movie screenings for the whole ʻohana.
