NOTICE TO MOTORISTS

EMERGENCY DRAINLINE REPAIR AT KAIOLOHIA STREET

County of Maui Department of Public Works

Beginning August 24, 2026, Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company, Inc. will be performing roadway improvements, including the removal of an existing collapsed drainline, installation of new drainage infrastructure, and pavement restoration. The project limits extend from the intersection of Kaiolohia Street and Kaikea Street to Hoohie Street.

Construction activities are anticipated to take place Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Intermittent lane closures will be required along the eastbound/south-facing lane to accommodate construction equipment and work activities. During these closures, traffic will be reduced to one lane with alternating traffic through the work zone.

MOTORISTS ARE ADVISED TO EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN TRAVELING THROUGH THE WORK ZONE. Motorists should expect intermittent delays, changing traffic conditions, and lane shifts throughout the duration of the project. Please reduce speed, remain alert for construction personnel and equipment, and follow all posted traffic control signs, devices, and directions from flaggers.
