JOHN E. WELSHONS (Ramananda) is a highly respected contemporary spiritual teacher who lectures and leads meditation courses throughout North America. 

Ramananda has been a practitioner of Vipassana (mindfulness) meditation and various forms of yoga for more than fifty years.

A close friend of Ram Dass, he worked with Ram Dass on a variety of projects beginning in 1973. 

Ramananda worked extensively with Stephen and Ondrea Levine ("Who Dies ?" and  "A Year to Live" ). He also studied with Dr. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross in 1976 when the "Hospice Movement" and Conscious Aging were just being awakened in American culture.
