World Cup Themed Scavenger Race

Soccer fans, families, and adventure seekers are invited to lace up their sneakers and join Maui Walking Tours for a one-of-a-kind World Cup-inspired scavenger race through Kihei on Saturday, June 27.

Created to celebrate the global excitement and tradition of the FIFA World Cup, this special one-time event combines the passion for soccer with the thrill of an Amazing Race-style challenge, solving clues, completing tasks, and racing against other teams.

Teams of two will race through Kihei on foot, solving clues, completing soccer-themed challenges, visiting local businesses, sampling themed foods, and tackling surprises along the route. The event is designed to be fun and accessible for players and non-players alike, with teamwork, problem-solving skills, and enthusiasm playing just as important a role as speed.

The first team to complete all the challenges will receive the grand prize!

Event Details

Date: Saturday, June 27
Start Time: 9:00 a.m.
Start Location: Kalama Park, Kihei
Duration: Approximately 1.5–2 hours

Team Requirements

• Limited to 15 teams of two participants

• Each team must include at least one adult age 18 or older

• Minimum participant age is 10 years old

• Teams should expect to cover approximately three miles on foot

• Athletic shoes are recommended.

• Participants must carry a smartphone or digital camera to document challenge completions along the way

• Teams wearing soccer jerseys will receive a two-minute head start

Cost

Like all Maui Walking Tours events, participation is free. However, teams should bring $25 cash per team, which will be used to purchase themed items from participating local businesses as part of the scavenger race experience.

The event is capped at 15 teams and you must register in advance at Maui Walking Tours.
