This holiday season, create lasting memories and continue the beloved tradition of seeing The Nutcracker. Maui’s own Alexander Academy of Performing Arts once again proudly presents a dazzling ballet in the Maui Arts and Cultural Center’s Castle Theater. With exquisite sets, world-class costumes, and Tchaikovsky’s unforgettable score, this is Maui’s premier full-length ballet, brought to life with top-tier artistry. Step into the magic as young Clara receives a Nutcracker doll on Christmas Eve, only to discover it comes to life and transforms into a dashing Prince. Together, they battle the wicked Rat King and his army, then journey through the shimmering Land of Snow, where dancing snowflakes fill the stage, and on to the enchanting Land of Sweets, ruled by the graceful Sugar Plum Fairy. Every moment is filled with wonder, beauty, and holiday joy.

With artistic direction by Absalon Figueroa, choreography by Figueroa, Amelia Nelson, Hallie Hunt, and Ella Craft, and costumes by Jennifer Oberg and The Sewing Hui, this production blends artistry, community, and holiday magic into a must-see experience.
