KAHULUI - Akakū Maui Community Media will be broadcasting live local General Election coverage November 5th from 7-11pm. The program can be viewed on cable channels 53, 54 & 55, from both Spectrum and Hawaiian Telcom providers. Non-subscribers can tune in online at akaku.org/watch, as well as watch from a mobile device through the free Maui Stream app. To listen, tune into KAKU 88.5 FM.
Akakū is also hosting an in-person community ʻWatch Partyʻ, with a jumbo 14 foot screen and free pizza. The party kicks off at 6pm with the latest updates on one of the most important national elections in American history, from Democracy Now. Starting at 7pm local coverage will begin, with hourly national election look-ins from C-Span.
Coverage will include the latest LOCAL results with Host Kathy Collins, Analyst Cammy Clark (formerly of Civil Beat), and Akakū's own Chivo Ching-Johnson outside among the crowd. Interviews with candidates, plus input from community leaders and special guests, will round out the show.
