Every 1st Tuesday of the Month | 9:00 am - 12:00 pm |
Join the Friends of Haleakalā National Park on the first Tuesday of every month for a service activity at the national park’s plant nursery in the Summit District of Haleakalā National Park, 9:00 am to noon. Participants will help care for rare, endemic plants being propagated, and some volunteers may also help catalog and organize materials in the park's adjacent museum.
Volunteers can drive up to the work location at the greenhouse and will not be charged an entrance fee. Reservations are required. Visit https://www.fhnp.org/service.html, and scroll down to Monthly One-day Nursery Service Events. Then click the link for reserving on the desired date.
Participants should bring water, snacks, and their own gloves if desired. The park will provide other tools. Wear sturdy shoes, and in case of out planting work, bring a hat and sunscreen.
