The Jazz Maui 2024 Maui Music Series presents the Fifth Annual Jazz Blues & Beyond Festival featuring the Tadashi Thomas Quartet in concert. Doors open at 5:30, show begins at 6pm. Suggested donations are $15 for adults, $10 students.

The Tadashi Thomas Quartet is composed of talented and gifted professsional musicians coming to Maui directly from New York City where they are active in the jazz scene. Julliard, Berklee School of Music, SUNY Purchase, and New School for Jazz are alma maters for this group of master musicians.

Hailing from Haiku, Maui Tadashi Thomas presents “In Transit”, his debut as a band leader. From studying with jazz royalty to collaborating with his peers, he has spent the past five years cutting his teeth in New York City as an up and coming jazz trumpeter, composer and arranger. In this homecoming tour, Tadashi along with his quartet, will leave audiences with an authentic experience of the best New York City has to offer.

Drummer Julian Miltenberger, pianist Caelan Carderro, and bassist Aron Caceres complete the Quartet. Also appearnig is the Na Ali'i Big Band, one of Hawaii's premier ensembles for traditional and contemporary big band-style jazz and swing.

The Jazz Maui 2024 Maui Music Series continues through July 14th and includes Jazz Camp July 1-11,  the annual Fourth of July Celebration, the Pineapple Festial, and performances by jazz vocalist Victor Fields.

Jazz Maui, a branch of the 501(c)-3 nonprofit Arts Education for Children Group (www.aecg.org), provides opportunities for participation in high quality jazz music education and performances. Throughout the year The Jazz Maui 2024 Maui Music Series presents Sunset Jazz every Sunday and the Pau Hana Series every Friday in Lahaina, outstanding visiting virtuosos in a bi-monthly concert series in Kihei, and special concerts, clinics and classes held at various venues around the islands. Jazz Maui supports Jazz Night at the Empanada Lady in Wailuku and Sheryl Renee “Salutes” at ProArts.
