Key highlights of this event include:

1.      Skechers is making a significant impact with a $50,000 donation to Help Maui Rise, a grassroots organization on the front lines of Maui's recovery. While initial aid poured in after the wildfires, the real challenge of rebuilding more than just homes and businesses are only now becoming apparent. As families in Lahaina face the daunting task of restarting their lives, they're discovering that insurance often falls short of covering all their needs. This timely contribution from Skechers provides crucial support during this highly stressful period, offering hope and tangible assistance to those still grappling with the aftermath of the devastating fires. By partnering with a local organization, Skechers ensures that aid reaches those most in need through direct, equitable distribution, demonstrating a commitment to long-term community recovery

2.      Skechers is investing in Maui's future with a $25,000 contribution to Lahaina Intermediate School through its partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org. This targeted donation addresses the unique obstacles faced by students and teachers in the wake of the wildfires. As displaced middle schoolers return to their community, they must overcome the hurdles of acclimating to new environments during crucial developmental years. Recognizing this, Skechers' contribution empowers teachers to create equitable, inclusive learning spaces with adaptive materials. This support is critical in providing students with the stability and resources they need to thrive academically and emotionally. By focusing on education, Skechers is not just rebuilding structures, but nurturing the resilience and potential of Maui's youth, ensuring a brighter future for the entire community.

3.      The event will be attended by key figures, emphasizing the significance of this community-driven initiative. Skechers president Michael Greenberg will join Maui Mayor Richard Bissen, as well as representatives from Help Maui Rise and Lahaina Intermediate School, to present the grants and provide firsthand insights into the impact of these donations. This gathering of influential leaders and community advocates offers a unique opportunity for media to capture the human stories behind the rebuilding process, making for compelling, heartwarming coverage of this important event.
