Nicole Olney is a poet, a yogi, and an aspiring five-string banjo witch. Born in the Mojave desert and cured in west LA, she then found herself paddling across the pacific ocean on a surfboard looking for waves. She landed on Maui, and discovered a wellspring of healing: sitting in her jungle yard writing solo songs on guitar. Her songs are articulate as well as dreamlike, weaving seamlessly between vivid grounding imagery and illuminated questioning that hits straight to the core. Her voice carries the kind of vintage vibrato power you’d find on a dusty old country record, and also a tender softness that leaves you with a feeling of ease.
This will be an evening of special sorts, as Nicole will have her band, as well as dear friend and songwriter Desirae Garcia opening up the show!
