INK & ESSENCE w/ SUMI-E PAINTING (Teen/ Tween ages 11-17)

Discover the art of Sumi-e, Japanese black ink painting! Join teaching artist Kēla Kahikina as she guides you through the graceful techniques of line, form, and movement that capture beauty in simplicity. In this fun, hands-on class, you will learn how to mix your own ink and practice traditional brushwork techniques. By the end of this three-week workshop, studentrs will bring it all together to create their own expressive Sumi-e paintings.
