The United States has been experiencing a NATIONAL blood shortage since the beginning of this year due to high flu activity and severe winter storms that has made the national blood inventory drop by as much as 35%! How does this impact us here in Hawaii? It means there is nothing to import from the mainland when our inventory levels run low, which is a daily challenge for us at Blood Bank of Hawaii. Local donors are needed NOW in order to make sure our hospitals are stocked with the necessary blood products needed to carry out their lifesaving tasks.
🩸 Maui Blood Drives 📅 Tuesday, March 17 - Thursday, March 19 ⏰ 3/17 - 9 am to 7 pm; 3/18 - 8 am - 6 pm; 3/19 - 6 am - 3 pm 📍 Cameron Center (95 Mahalani St. Wailuku, HI 96793) Be sure to eat a large meal and hydrate by drinking LOTS of water prior to coming for your blood donation. Mahalo for your commitment to taking care of those fighting for their lives in our local hospitals. Your selfless act of kindness to roll up your sleeve to donate blood is truly admirable.
