Join us for a celebration as we mark the 21st anniversary of the beloved Slack Key Show! This milestone event will take place at the picturesque Napili Kai Beach Resort, where music lovers and fans of Hawaiian culture will gather for another unforgettable evening.
The festivities kick off with a no-host bar, and we’re excited to offer all attendees a free first drink! Indulge in delicious cake as we commemorate two decades of beautiful music and vibrant community. Guests will also receive free CDs and an exclusive anniversary sticker, ensuring you leave with a cherished keepsake from this special occasion.
George Kahumoku will open the show with his traditional slack key guitar style and vocals. Talented young guitarist , Shem Kahawaii, will perform with the accompaniment of our enchanting hula dancer Wainani, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Hawaii. Daniel Ho, a Grammy-winning ukulele and guitarist, songwriter and vocalist, will feature his popular contemporary compositions. The evening’s performances promise to provide a memorable experience for all.
"We are incredibly grateful for the support we've received over the years," said George Kahumoku, Jr. "This anniversary is not just a celebration of music; it's a tribute to the community that has embraced us and allowed us to share our passion for slack key guitar."
A heartfelt mahalo goes to the Napili Kai Beach Resort and GM, Gregg Nelson, for hosting us and supporting our cultural mission to promote talented slack key performers. Together, we continue to foster a love for Hawaiian music and tradition.
