Enjoy a special movie night featuring a powerful Maui-made documentary!
Join Whalers Village for an extra special movie night celebrating Maui filmmaking and the Maui community.
Winner of the Best Documentary Audience Award at the Hawaii International Film Festival, "Uncle Bully's Surf Skool" is a testament to the power of one person to shape a more hopeful future for the next generation.
Maui surf instructor Bull Kotter grew up tough on the streets of Lahaina, and witnessed all-too-familiar struggles among his community as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and shutdown of tourism — parents without work, keiki without school or structure, and 'ohana without a place to sleep at night. In the midst of unprecedented adversity, Uncle Bully stans up for his community of Lahaina, turning surf lessons into life lessons.
Following the film, Whalers Village and Inflatable Film invite you to remain in the 'Ohana Courtyard for a Q&A with the Maui-based cast and crew of "Uncle Bully's Surf Skool."
Day: Friday, March 23
*Time: 6 to 7:30 p.m.
Location: Whalers Village 'Ohana Courtyard
