| Every 2nd Saturday of the Month | 9:00 am - 11:00 pm |
We need 50-100 volunteers every month to make this magic happen. If we don't get enough signed up we will cancel event. Dinner is provided on Fri night for volunteers around 5pm. You must have keiki age 0-18 to attend this event, anyone is welcome to volunteer.
Take what you need, bring what you can. Kids grow, clothes don't. Please check our social media for what we are accepting each month. At OKE we believe it takes a village, and every village needs a gathering place. So every month we host an event where families can bring what new and gently used clothes for humans of all genders, sizes from birth to 6xl, toys, books, games, and baby items and get what others don't need anymore. All items are high quality and sorted before being put out.
Donations are normally taken from 3pm-8pm Fri night before and 7-9am day of event, limited to 2 bags per household, to allow us to sort and get items out to families before we close. This does change based on current needs, please check social media for latest info. Make sure all items are clean, dry, free of mold, holes, mildew etc.... We take new and gently used clothing and shoes in all sizes for all genders and ages, toys for keiki in great condition, books for all ages and genders, home school supplies, craft supplies, baby items. Please see graphic below or contact us for details.
We work closely with multiple other non profits to make sure all items are getting full life use. Including shredding items for filling in crafts, sending blankets, towels, and washcloths to the Maui Humane Society, clothing for the unhoused to Maui Rescue Mission, Maui Rapid Response, and Holomua Outreach to name a few.
Operating as a mission of Kihei Lutheran Church since August of 2016 with 10 families in a park, we have grown to hundreds of families each month, and dozens of community partners all over Maui. Proving we are better together.
Please stay home if you or children are ill, wear a mask if you must come after recent exposures. The exchange is not for personal profit and no items gotten from exchange are to be sold or used for profit, or sent off island without discussing with leadership first. We do reserve the right to refuse service to anyone taking advantage. Please keep the aloha alive and pass any items still in good shape when you are done on to others in need for free. We do have the right to ask anyone to leave for abusing/misusing the exchange at any time. You will be asked to leave if using trash bags.
