Ocean Camp encourages campers to learn about the ocean and Maui’s natural environment while developing useful skills and making new friends. Each session centers around a specific ocean-related theme and includes hands-on science lessons, team-building games, expressive crafts and daily field trips with local partners, including weekly 3-hour private snorkel trips on PacWhale Eco-Adventures vessels. Each weekly session accommodates a maximum of 20 campers.

June 9-13 | Mauka to Makai
Hawaiʻi is a place like no other on the planet. With endemic species found nowhere else, amazing natural ecosystems and deep cultural roots, there is so much to learn about the Hawaiian Islands. This week of Ocean Camp, campers will dive into the concept of “Mauka to Makai,” the connection between the mountains and the ocean. Through native plant restoration, snorkeling on the reefs and lessons about Hawaiian history, campers will learn how to protect our beautiful islands’ ʻāina.
July 14-18 | Polar Plunge
Take a plunge into the frigid waters of the polar extremes! This week of Ocean Camp will explore animals who live life on the edge in the coolest of places on our planet. Through in-classroom and field exploration, campers will investigate the adaptations that making it possible to live in the extreme environments of the poles. With hands-on crafts, snowy games, and frosty fun, this week of Ocean Camp packed with adventure at the top and bottom of the world!
