http://ohanastronghi.comAloha! 'Ohana Strong is hosting its 5th annual Back to School supply drive, and 9th Back to School Bash.
'Ohana Strong is most well known for its 'Ohana Keiki Exchange going for 9 years this August. We take in gently used and new items, check them for quality, and then sort to make shopping easy for families. Everything is FREE and open to any family with keiki 18 and under. Only take what you need for your immediete household, no selling or shipping off island please. No income or citizenship requirments. All households with keiki are welcome to attend. Supporting families while also reducing waste is what we do every month for 9 years, and 2 times a year (July for back to school, and Dec for Christmas) we also have new items available. NO DONATIONS TAKEN ON JULY 12th PLEASE.
Grateful to be a ministry of Kihei Lutheran Church we are a self supporting 501C3. We also support multiple local orgs who serve those that are with out permanant shelter suppling clothing, hygiene, and when needed keiki items.
BACK TO SCHOOL BASH
Who Anyone with keiki 18 and under can attend. Keiki MUST be in present In person to get what they need. This
What School supplies while supplies last Including backpacks, clothing, shoes, hygiene products and more. Keiki will need to be present to enter new items and school supply areas, and try on shoes to make sure they fit before leaving new items area. Giveaways and games from partner providers including Na Kiai O Maui, What Makes You Feel Beautiful, Vertical Sports, Aloha Intention Get LIt, Rotatry of Kihei Wailea, and others.

Volunteers needed July 11th 9am-7pm and July 12th 7am-1pm

Why Because keiki deserve clothing and supplies that both fits and is an expression of who they are. Allowing them to focus on school, and parents to focus on other bills like rent, utilities, and food.
How to Register Preregister here, and make checking in easy day of event. Please do not park in handicap parking unless you have proper permit, and be respectful of neighbors if need to street park and when arriving/leaving.

Why? To make sure our keiki go back to school in clothing, shoes they feel and look good in, and proper supplies. When they are wearing things that fit properly are able to better focus, be less distracting to others, and learn more. By helpng local families get these basic needs we reduce household stress, allowing more money for things like rent, food, and utilities. This also helps to reduce domestic violence and abuse since it is proven that when basic needs are met parents are more emotionally available.
What? Accepting new unused backpacks, school supplies, underwear, shoes and socks, hygiene products for all ages sizes and genders.
Who? Anyone who wants to contribute can! If you can't contribute finacially volunteers are needed on July 11th 9am-8pm and July 12th 7am-1pm. Come for an hour or more. Family friendly volunteering, feel free to bring the keiki, tutus, aunties, uncles, and neighbors.
