We are thrilled to share that after two successful virtual years, Whale Tales is returning as an in-person event!

Whale Tales will feature a Community Expo of local artists and businesses, a Marine Science Center featuring hands-on learning, a silent auction, benefit whale watches with the experts, and world class presentations from scientists and storytellers.

Inspired by the positive feedback about the global aspect of the virtual event, the 2023 event will bring together marine scientists from Central America, Mexico, Philippines, Japan, and Hawai'i for a comprehensive update on humpbacks across the North Pacific region. Bringing together this group of experts and the potential for new research collaborations is unprecedented.

This year's presenters will feature scientists that are both familiar and new to Whale Tales, including Dr. Nazomi Koyabashi (Japan), Dr. Jo Marie Acebes (Philippines), Dr. Jorge Urbán (Mexico), and Joelle De Weerdt (Nicaragua).

Additionally, we will be hosting a screening of Soul of the Ocean with world renowned filmmakers Howard and Michele Hall. They have produced numerous award-winning television films for PBS Nature, National Geographic, the BBC and other broadcasters, and are the recipients of seven Emmy Awards!

Stay tuned as we continue to announce additional scientists, photographers, videographers, and storytellers. This year's event will be truly unforgettable! Registration will be opening beginning of December.
