Maui Hands Overview
Maui Hands operates three retail art gallery locations on the island of Maui, featuring a wide selection of art created by local Hawai’i artisans. We are looking for a bookkeeper to join our team and support both our bookkeeping, and human resources functions. We are a team of folks that is passionate about facilitating the experience of a customer finding a great piece of art they really connect with. We love what we do, and the people we get to serve and work with. We are looking for someone excited to join in that with us, and work to continuously improve our business!
Responsibilities
Bookkeeping
· Monthly bank reconciliation
· Monthly bookkeeping and internal financial statement preparation
· Bill payments
· GET and income tax filings
· Maintain connections to other systems and processes
· Continuous improvement initiatives
Human Resources
· Payroll processing
· Benefits management
· Human resources filings and compliance management
· Employee onboarding and offboarding
· Human resources point of contact for employees
Qualifications
· Experienced bookkeeper using Quickbooks online
· Experience with retail industry bookkeeping practices, technology and tools an asset
· Experience with Hawaii state human resources requirements including payroll, benefits, and filings an asset
· Willing to take on new challenges and projects to continuously improve systems and processes
· Strong communication skills, and ability to collaborate with others
