Come help inspire the next generation of ocean ambassadors!Reporting to the Programs Director, the Education Specialist develops and implements new (and existing) Education programs that are delivered in person and virtually. This position works with the Education Team to deliver our existing programs including Ocean Camp, Ocean Career Quest, Keiki Whale watch and Plastic Pollution Solutions, and helps plan, develop and implement new programs for school groups and the general public while supporting the organization’s commitment to Pacific Whale Foundation’s Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion efforts.Our ideal candidate has at least three years of formal or informal teaching experience with various age groups and abilities, and experience developing and implementing science and/or environmental education curriculum. Experience as an environmental educator in Hawaii/knowledge of Hawaiian culture and natural history, experience with video conferencing and online education platforms, and familiarity with Next Generation Science Standards, Common Core Standards, and Ocean Literacy Principles will set you apart!This is a regular, full-time, hourly, non-exempt position, based on Maui.We offer a full range of benefits including health insurance, voluntary insurance, 401k, paid time off (available upon hire), bus pass reimbursement, pet insurance and an online learning library for professional growth and development.
