The Hawaiʻi Wildfire Management Organization (HWMO) is seeking a dedicated Wildfire Resilient Landscapes Coordinator focused on Maui County to drive wildfire mitigation education, planning, risk reduction learning, and projects among diverse partners. This role involves supporting large landowners, fire suppression agencies, planners, local nonprofit partners, and other key stakeholders through one-on-one assistance, coordinated group efforts, and hands-on field activities. We’re looking for community-driven individuals who are passionate about safeguarding the people and landscapes of Hawaiʻi and the Pacific from wildfires. Ideal candidates will have:
Position Types: All open positions are full-time, one-year positions with the possibility of renewal, contingent upon funding and performance.
Work Environment: Team members work remotely from home with regular opportunities for in-person work sessions and networking. Most team members are also expected to work a portion of their time in the field (in-person events and activities). Some pre-scheduled work events may occur during evenings and weekends; flexibility is required. Frequent inter-island travel; occasional continental U.S. travel.
