According to Grimes, the last gate count was similar to last year, but the official count has yet to be tallied, which includes an estimated 46% rise in pre-sale tickets and an increase in parade participation.

The Grand Marshal this year is Archie Kalepa, the 2012 Duke Kahanamoku Waterman Hall of Fame Inductee and Officer Safety Officer for the County of Maui.

Booths are still available in both the Hawaii Products & Services Tent and the Commercial Exhibit Tent at the 90th Maui Fair, taking place on September 27-30, 2012.
