#91st maui fair

The increase was attributed in part to the wider variety of food and entertainment, as well as new attractions that debuted during this year’s four-day event that ran from Oct. 3 to 6, 2013.

Attendance at the 91st Maui Fair is up so far after preliminary gate totals were tallied from opening night on Thursday. Maui Fair Managing Director Sherri Grimes said paid admission was up by about 1.8% from previous year totals.

The 91st Maui Fair kicks off today with a traditional parade down Kaʻahumanu Avenue, and an opening night that features entertainment by Sean Naʻauao and Hālau Ka Hanu O Lehua, under the direction of Kamaka Kukona from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The 91st annual Maui Fair kicks off this Thursday, Oct. 3. Follow the parade to food, exhibits and all the cheesy rides you love.

The honorary post provides an opportunity each year to express appreciation for an individual in the community.

With an attendance approaching 100,000, administrators note that the Maui Fair is the primary source of funding for many of Maui’s nonprofit and community organizations.
