Makawao Man Placed 3rd for Visually Impaired at World Para Surfing Championships
The Hawaiʻi Adaptive Surf Team placed fifth in the world at the 2021 Pismo Beach ISA World Para Surfing Championships, with 38-year-old Aaron Paulk of Makawao taking third in the menʻs Visually Impaired 2 Division.
Maui Adaptive Surfers Win Big at 2021 Para Surfing Championships
Four Maui adaptive surfers brought home top-three finishes at the 2021 Toyota USA Surfing Para Surfing Championship competition and team trials in Oceanside, CA last week. The event was the first major para surfing competition to take place in the United States since COVID-19 shutdowns began.
