Mayor Richard Bissen signed into law an approximately $1.56 billion Fiscal Year 2026 budget on Friday. The document address core priorities — housing for kamaʻāina, recovery and well-being, and the protection of our cultural and natural resources.

The budget pending second reading on Tuesday, has been reduced $9.4 million from the Budget Committee, but still $46 million more than the Bissen proposed budget. Once approved, the budget will go into effect July 1.
